Here’s to all of our Canadian Vejii”s – A Canadian classic gone vegan. This is our spin on poutine – Vegan Waffle Fry Poutine. If you are unfamiliar with poutine, now is the time to get familiar. Crispy fries, chunks of cheese, and warm gravy drizzled overtop to create one epic Canadian meal. We made our version vegan using the Tofurkey savory gravy and Miyoko’s Italian Style Mozzarella.

This poutine was almost too easy to make. It’s perfect as a shared dish, for a big group, but to be honest…you will probably want this plate all to yourself.


Waffle Fry PoutineIngredients:

  • 1 package Alexia Foods Waffle Cut Fries
  • Tofurkey: Savory Gravy
  • Miyoko’s Creamery: Italian Style Mozzarella


  1. Pre-Heat oven to 425
  2. Spread the waffle fries evenly onto a baking tray
  3. Cook for fries for 25-30 minutes, until crispy
  4. In a saucepan, heat the container of Tofurkey savory gravy on low until liquid. 
  5. Cut the mozzarella into cubes
  6. When the fries are done, place them on a plate, sprinkle the mozzarella chunks over top and drizzle the hot gravy. 
  7. Enjoy!
